[SOLVED] Problem playing certain files with MPD

Well, the other day I decided to ditch Audacious (let's just say it's slipping) and give MPD another try. I had used it last year at some point (with ncmpc), but if the filename included any letters with accents (as used in Spanish or French), the file wouldn't even show up in ncmpc. Anyway, I installed it again, and opted for gmpc this time. I was happy to see that all the songs were visible in the library, but unfortunately gmpc just skips the ones with the aforementioned characters in their filenames.

So, what are my options at this point?

Re: [SOLVED] Problem playing certain files with MPD

Well, I received some help on the #mpd@freenode.net channel, and I can now listen to all of my music. However, I don't know what actually fixed it. I guess it's solved for now...if I figure out what the problem/solution is, I will post it for future reference.
