[solved] FBSPLASH verbose background for only one VC?

I would like to have the background image only on one console, the others should remain black. Is there a way to do this and if so, is it possible too chose another console than vc/1? I'd like to have vc/8 graphical, and all others standard.

They say if you reverse play a Windows CD you can hear satanic verses... But wanna know what's even worse? If you forward play it, it's gonna install Windows on your system!

Have a look at /etc/conf.d/gensplash

I just have my vc1 console as graphical by not putting gensplash in my rc.conf daemons line.

editing /etc/conf.d/gensplash never worked for me as it always seemed to load on all vc's no matter what I put in there sad

good luck

Zer0 seems to be right... any changes in /etc/conf.d/gensplash have no effect for me, either. The workaround with disabling the daemon in rc.conf works, too... thank you.

It seems there is a bug in the gensplash rc-demon, that causes that settings in /etc/conf.d/gensplash are never taken into account. I've added

. /etc/conf.d/gensplash

to the beginning of /etc/rc.d/gensplash and reactivated the gensplash daemon in rc.conf. Now I can set splash consoles on which evert tty I like (which for me is 1, 8 and 11).
