flickering gnome/gtk save dialog

I came back from spring break to do a nice pacman -Syu, and afterward, I noticed that my save dialog for apps like gimp and firefox go berzerk when I try to save, as the dialog rapidly alternates between two widths:

I use fluxbox, and I let pacman do its thing when checking for dependencies, no mask-deletion of packages either.  Has anyone experienced this, and hopefully solved it?  Thanks

i had the same problem, but that was only one time. never had it again. don't know what it is...

system infos: latest packages, e17-cvs, gtk-murrine-engine

I have the same problem with firefox and gimpshop. I use e17 (snapshots in community). I didn't had time yet to investigate the problem.

Same problem with e-17 and scite, when the save box is in the compact mode if you select the browse other folder options it's fine.

I've another problem here, occured after lastest libx11 upgrade afaik.
I use openbox in GNOME, and whenever a small box/dialog opens (for example for deleting files) this small dialog window pops up and hides again in damn fast speed, again and again. "Dialog box appears" , "Dialog box is gone" , "Dialog box appears" . and so on ........ until i managed to click "Cancel" or "OK". Very annoying, because im forced to use sloooow Metacity again

I got the same problem on a fresh install (04/07) with firefox and dwm.

no one, who has a idea, what it can be?

i found out, that when i resize the dialog, it stops flickering.

FWIW, me too on the Gimp box thing.  Latest updated from Community, Current and Extra + e17 from tehkis repository.

I don't have a solution, but if you click the "browse for other folders" button, it will stop. So the question I have is is it possible to get the GTK file dialog box to always open in full view?
