Invisible cursor

I installed arch with the new .iso and had a couple of problems.

First, the install had to be ftp since the installer could not mount the cd, but that is a minor item.

I also had the problem of an "invisible" cursor. I set up xorg.conf using all methods outlined in the beginners guide in the wiki and I had a successful test each time; "X -config /etc/X11/xorg.conf.whatever" and saw a little cursor on a blackscreen.

But, with gdm, gnome, or xfce4 --- the cursor was there as you could move the mouse and see highlighting change; but, it was invisible.

The fix was to put

Option "HWcursor" "false"

in the device section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf just under where the driver is mentioned.

Odd, this was a problem with fedora ages ago; that is how I knew the fix without looking it up.
