Pacman mirror for Germany/Austria

Hi there!

I know there is a thread about a mirror for north america which i could have used, but i think with a new topic it might be helpfull for more people from the same region!

I am actually looking for a good/fast/up2date Server for Austria/Germany. I tried "tuwien" and "tuchemnitz" but both fail while downloading packages and are nor really up to date. So anyone got a good server?

The Hosteurope-Mirror works great for me. I can only recommend it.

Re: Pacman mirror for Germany/Austria

The austrian mirror (Technical University) is quite slow... quite ... very slow tongue. I think they are actually mirroring too lots of, i'm in the same city (vienna) and get a rate of about 17 kb/s of the mirror.

I'm using gigabit and often tu-chemnitz. I still hope inode will some day mirror arch, they always had an awful speed at linux mrroring.

Re: Pacman mirror for Germany/Austria

Gigabit and hosteurope mirrors are pretty fast for me too.

Btw, quite a few austrian arch-users here. Nice...

Re: Pacman mirror for Germany/Austria

FYI: You could also update to pacman3 in testing and use the new rankmirrors script.

I'm from Germany and use the mirror from Belgium
The speed is very good (230-250, which is the max for me).

Re: Pacman mirror for Germany/Austria

i use the apokryph server from the topic of #archlinux.de which is pretty up to date and i get good speed there aswell (about 650k). the downside is, that it doesn't include the community repo hmm

edit: switched to hosteurope.de too. just as fast, more up to date than apokryph and it has community too smile /me happy

I'm living in vienna and would recommend the swiss mirror ftp://archlinux.puzzle.ch - good speed (~400KB/s with chello) and quite up to date.

I am using pacman3. But rankmirrors just puts the austrian mirror on top, which sucks. I tried a couple of mirrors, but all of them failed while downloading. But the one suggested in this thread works fine!
