i just installed openoffice by pacman -S openoffice. this was done succesfully. after that i started the setup agent for me as user (sear).
now where can i find the file to launch openoffice?
i tried "locate soffice" but an error came up:
warning: locate: can not open database /var/lib/slocate/slocate.db: No such file or directory
thanks for help!

pacman -Ql openoffice will give a list of all files that belong to that package, very useful sometimes.
If you run the setup program already, then you can start up openoffice by executing ~/openofficedir/soffice or by running /opt/openoffice/program/soffice directly.

... also search the forum, as there are a lot questions already answered somewhere :-)

Run this as a normal user:
# /opt/openoffice/setup
Then run the soffice binary from ~/OpenOffice.org1.1.0 or wherever it puts it.
