Login Failed in KDM, but it's ok under text mode.

I have just remove the xfce4 and install KDE, but I can't Login in kde. "Login Failed", no matter root or other users. But it's ok under text mode.
What shall I do except reinstall the Archlinux?

Re: Login Failed in KDM, but it's ok under text mode.

I got a similar problem on my laptop. After upgrading to a newer Xorg version, I couldn't login to KDE anymore. However, logging into console or xfce works without a problem. I wanted to try Kubuntu on my laptop, but now it's completely messed up: KDM works, login doesn't, switching to the console makes the screen go mad - it gets grey slowly, as if it was destroyed. When I type in root, the password, and "halt", the screen works again (and the shutdown).

Which Xorg version and which graphics card do you use? I've got an ATI Mobile 200M in my laptop - I think the drivers with Xorg beyong 7.0 are broken..?
