I;m using the /arch/setup for installation. At the step of "Install Kernel" , the screen says that it's successful , showing that the kernel26.img is at /boot.
However i check on the /boot only "grub" folder is present ,no kernel26.img .
I couldn't complete the "bootloader" configuration stage, i think due to this problem.
Any idea or suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you set up a separate boot partition or not?

Thanks for the reply..
I did the fdisk -l
Screen output shown below:
----------------------
Disk /dev/sda: 20.4GB 20416757760 bytes.
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 2482 cyclinders
Units: Cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 5 40131 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 6 133 1028160 83 Linux
/dev/sda3 134 2482 18868342+ 83 Linux
-------------------
There's an "*" under the Boot column, so it's a boot partition. (Just did it using fdisk) :-)
I just did again the "Install Kernel" , and there 's a screen shows 3 lines something like "no mount point../proc" it flashes very fast.. does the message stored in a file which i can refer it?
I checked the /boot and still no kernel26.img.

Are you using 0.8 ISO?
Start the installation from the beginning and make sure you set up mount points properly (/boot, / and /home, I presume). Perhaps you misconfigured something at this stage.

Yes, I;m using the 0.8 ISO.
I think something is not right with my CD-RW drive.
I tried to bootup the Ubuntu Edge LiveCD and got message about the "CDROM drive - confused.." and hangs there.
I strongly believe the issue lies with the CD-RW drive, because i had burnt number of times of ArchLinux iso file to CD-R. Did the MD5sum check, it's ok.
But i kept having errors in retrieving some files out from the base package.
I have make up my mind , tomorrow i will buy a brand-new CD-RW drive, and will see the outcome.
