running vmware as non-root

Anyone knows how to run vmware as non-root? I didn't manage it after I installed it from AUR, the following error occurs when trying:

/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmplayer: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)

VMware Player Error:
VMware Player must be set-UID root, "/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx" is not.  Are you running /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx from its distribution directory?  That copy of the program is not set-UID root.

Anyone knows what to do? Strangely, there was no vmware group created with the installation and when I got it running earlier some time ago I thought there was one...

Thanks for you help
Cheers
Jan

Re: running vmware as non-root

I'm running a dutch kde so i am not sure about de exact spelling but try this:
Set as root the file /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx
by properties, permissions, by advanced select all the left boxes and  select UID .... on the right.
