Hi all
i just updated my system to xfce 4.4.1-1 thunar exo etc....
The archive pluggin for thunar stopped working with No Suitable Archive Manager Found.
I have both xarchiver and squeeze installed.
Any ideas?

No !!
How?

right-mouse click (open with different application) and then select an archive manager.
Otherwise, try re-installing the plugin and the mime-db, because one of them might be broken.

sorrry i did that already. the open file works so the extract here and extract
but if i right click on a file and select create archive then the same message appears.
to update mime do u mean update-mime-database /usrr/share/mime ??

Hello...
Same problem here with thunar and xarchiver after the last update.
And I also miss the notification settings icon in the settings menu.
The notification-settings binary is still in /opt/xfce4/bin/ and not upgraded; it's the only module still there.
I think we'll have an update soon, right?
O.

Then the archive manager in question might not be associated with zip archives, which one do you use?

squeeze

I have removed squeeze 0.1.0, and compiled / installed squeeze from svn.
I must say that i don't really know what the autotools 'make install' does that the pacman update doesn't.
But this seems to solve the tap issue :S

With xarchiver the problem is the same.

i have put all entries from /opt/xfce4/usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache to the in in /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache and have no problems. i can right-click on folders and create an archive using squeeze.

Then, to solve this, they should run 'update-desktop-database' and restart xfce. (IIRC)

It works perfectly, thanks to both. No need to restart xfce after 'update-desktop-database'.
Anyway, when something goes wrong after a big update like this, is there an 'arch way' to directly inform the manteiner or not? I suppose that he will provide an update soon for everybody. Am i wrong?
Greetings and thanks for the great great distro.
