ivtv 0.10.1 and kernel 2.6.20-3 [Solved]
ivtv0: All encoder MPEG stream buffers are full. Dropping data.
ivtv0: Cause: the application is not reading fast enough.
freezes desktop and sometimes kills xorg. googled the errors above and seems to be maybe a clock sync issue.

not sure what caused but a reboot has cleared things. funny thing is there was a reboot before this issue came up.
