vncserver on arch64 does not work

Hi all,

I am currently struggling to get vncserver on my 64-bit-arch up and running. When I start the server using

vncserver :1

it seems to start fine but upon connecting to the system remotely I only get a black screen.

This seems to be a 64-bit related issue to me as I have a 32-bit chroot environment within my 64-bit os. The home-directory of the 32-bit system is bound to my 64-bit environment, which means that all settings and scripts are the same.

When I start the vncserver on my 32-bit chroot everythings works as expected, kde is started and the 32-bit apps are accessible.

However, when I try to start vncserver from my 64-bit system with the same settings I only get the black screen.

Any ideas?

Re: vncserver on arch64 does not work

Hi,
I have tested x11vnc with vncviewer from the package tightvnc. Works fine on my 64-bit machine. What package do you use for vncserver? tightvnc, vnc or x11vnc??

Re: vncserver on arch64 does not work

Currently I use tightvnc 1.2.9-4.1 as sole vnc installation.
