Running Worldcraft with Wine (or OpenGL in child window problem)

Hi!, I'm trying to run Worldcraft (the Half life map editing tool) with wine (version 0.9.30), everything works fine except when I choose to display a 3D view on one of the viewports  (3D views uses OpenGL to render the scene), when I do this, the whole window turns black, and flickers (showing some portion of the original window) when I hit the mouse button of move the window.
This seems to be the Opengl in child window problem that was supposedly fixed in wine 0.9.28, but, well.. it happens sad   This happens also with Lightwave 8.0.

Can anyone try and see if this happens to you as well?  or.. well. does anybody knows how to fix it? sad

thanks a lot! smile

Re: Running Worldcraft with Wine (or OpenGL in child window problem)

Thanks Nephastos, but I'm trying to run Worldcraft, not Warcraft smile Worldcraft is a world editing tool for Half-Life.
I uploaded it to my server if anyone would like to try and see if it works for you (as it is an issue that should be solved by now, I think),  you can download it from http://www.darkdesigns.com.ar/worldcraft3.exe

Thanks a lot smile

I installed soft and seem to be to work well.
I use the Cult3D Designer 5 that also it uses 3d render and everything is ok
excuse for not being able to help more sad

Re: Running Worldcraft with Wine (or OpenGL in child window problem)

this is an upstream problem/bug of Wine with 3D in child-windows. a patch is out there to fix it and will be incorporated in a future wine release. see winehq.com's newsletters about it.

Re: Running Worldcraft with Wine (or OpenGL in child window problem)

Great, thanks!, I'll wait for 0.9.35 to see if it works there, and if not, then I'll try with the patch.

thanks!
