cdrdao does not burn, then device disappears

Dear all!

I am working on a dell precision 380 with archlinux on it. Cdrdao is giving me trouble with writing. I have a bin/toc pair generated with cdrdao. My burner (the only optical disk in the machine, is shown by scanbus to be device 4,0,0). However, when I try:

cdrdao write --device 4,0,0 --multi --speed 12 backup1a.toc

What I get is:

Cdrdao version 1.2.2 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>
SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling
Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty

Check http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for current driver tables.

Using libscg version 'schily-0.8'

4,0,0: PHILIPS DVD+-RW DVD8701  Rev: 5D24
Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC - Version 2.0 (options 0x0000)

and then the device disappears. If I repeat the command, I get:

Cdrdao version 1.2.2 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>

I googled, but found nothing about this specific error. Anyone else has been experiencing the same problem?
