Re: gaim to be renamed to pidgin

Wow, it sounds like a nightmare to be sued by a big corporation for a name. I hope that none will ever sue our devs while resurrecting the pacman game. It also seems that microsoft is less picky than aol, if amsn or tcmsn can retain their names quietly.

Re: gaim to be renamed to pidgin

It bugs me that Gaim had the name first anyway.

I think microsoft is fine with custom clients and usage of "msn" name in general. It's free advertising for them neutral

in my opinion only website adress was changed because in sidebar  "What's Gaim"  still stays.

Re: gaim to be renamed to pidgin

You know, the first time I heard of Gaim I was wondering how they got by using that name and wondered how long they would be able to keep that name. I don't know if I'll ever get used to the name changing (especially since the name is SO different), but at least they didn't pick that bad of a name.

Re: gaim to be renamed to pidgin

I am comfortable with pidgin. It may be an impulse towards a change in design, which would not be too bad for the whole project, from my point of view.
