Does archlinux support Intel Core 2 DUO T7200 ?

I bought a notebook without OS, as soon it arrives I have to install one.
Archlinux works with that kind of processor, I just have to download the x86_64 version, right?

Thanks

You can choose either ArchLinux i686 or x86_64. Both will work. Each has pros and cons.

Both will work, I'm curious as to how effectively Arch uses dual cores by default.
If you want a hassle free life you might be better of going with the i686.

Default Arch kernel is compiled with SMP support, so Arch by default uses dual cores as effectively as linux kernel allows.

There are no problems with the x86_64 version. Just a couple of applications like adobe reader, skype, googleearth, flash doesn't exists in this version, because of the lack support from the companies for 64bit binaries.
You can install the lib32 stuff from aur to run these applications, look at the forum, there are several threads to this topic. Or you run these from a 32bit-chroot.

For flash there exists gnash, it supports flash v7 at the moment.
Adobe Reader, no words......there are enough free pdf viewer.

That's all, there are just a couple of applications that just don't run on the pure arch64.
