Hi all,
I recently upgraded to vlc-0.8.6a, but now vlc reports
> main private error: no sout access module matched "http"
This is important because I'm using a MediaMVP with mvpmc (http://mvpmc.org) and it uses the http module to stream video from the server to my TV set.
After reading a post on this forum, I removed that version and manually compiled and installed the 0.8.6b-bugfix nightly build from videolan.org. However, the problem didn't go away.
Can someone here help me downgrade vlc back to 0.8.5? My pacman cache has been cleared out, and I can't find an old PKGBUILD anywhere. I'd prefer to use the ArchLinux build rather than compile my own.

You cand download an older PKBUILD in the cvs.

I can't compile the 0.8.5 PKGBUILD!
apparently, the 0.8.5 isn't compatible with wxgtk-2.8 and the wxgtk-2.6 package just added to extra is 2.6.2, but vlc wants 2.6.3!
This is getting tiring.
I love ArchLinux's cutting edge approach, but there should be an easier way to downgrade for people like me without the hard drive space to always cache all my pacman packages.
