Well, suddenly my nearly new machine began to freeze randomly for about 30 seconds each time. Its not a complete freeze. Only the display, keyboard and mouse cursor freezes, but audio continues to play and the hdd also works if there is a job to do... I have a slight suspicion that it is something with X, it also happens with or without beryl enabled...
As said before, it just started. I dont have edited any important config file since weeks or changes anything other, so i have also the suspicion that this came with a package upgrade...
Here is what i have checked so far:
- CPU temp is ok (28-38c°)
- GFX temp is ok (40-50c°)
- Memtest runs ok, no errors
- There are no errors in my logs about the hdd or something
- DMA etc is enabled
- using pata or ide drivers does not matter
- no errors in .xsession-errors
- and finally, this does not happen under windows, so its not a hardware issue in my opinion
System:
- Pentium4 DualCore @ 3.4Ghz (not overclocked or something)
- PCIe nVidia 7600GT (using nvidia drivers 1.0.9755, also not overlocked)
- Kernel26Beyond
For the record, here is my Xorg.0.log
