Necessarily gnome apps, or maybe gtk ones?

I personally move gtk2+ apps also to /usr instead of /opt/gnome, since gnome not necessarily must be installed.

Remember that aur is only a community thing where packages aren't officially maintained. Don't expect packages there to be quickly updated to /usr

You can always post a comment in AUR if they haven't updated it.  Be careful too.. some use $GNOME2_PATH which doesn't seem to get set anymore so you might end-up with them installing to / instead of /opt/gnome (yikes!)
