Today I did an update of my Arch box and I noticed that it displayed errors when the firewall Firestarter was updated.
Further, I decided to make sure the firewall was working so I issued
/etc/rc.d/firestarter restart
but nothing happened.
I went to another of my boxes and pinged the machine and ... it answered (when it should have not!) and that made me suspicious, so I continued to investigate and to make a long story short: the firewall was not working.
The errors were:
/var/lib/pacman/local/firestarter-1.0.3-5/install: line 24: syntax error near unexpected token `done'
/var/lib/pacman/local/firestarter-1.0.3-5/install: line 24: ` done'
removing firestarter... /var/lib/pacman/local/firestarter-1.0.3-5/install: line 24: syntax error near unexpected token `done'
/var/lib/pacman/local/firestarter-1.0.3-5/install: line 24: ` done'
done.
The temporary solution I gave the problem was to install the last working version from the cache but I hope the devs. will have some time to find the problem and fix it.
BTW, starting the firewall "by hand" does not work either. It gives no error but it is not working.
Thanks!

It's fixed in the latest firestarter package.

No, it is not:
checking package integrity... done.
loading package data... done.
checking for file conflicts... done.
/tmp/pacman-LoeZGO/.INSTALL: line 24: syntax error near unexpected token `done'
/tmp/pacman-LoeZGO/.INSTALL: line 24: ` done'
upgrading firestarter... done.
/var/lib/pacman/local/firestarter-1.0.3-5/install: line 24: syntax error near unexpected token `done'
/var/lib/pacman/local/firestarter-1.0.3-5/install: line 24: ` done'
the error is a little different than before but it is yet there and upon restarting it not going up.

I did a test today and got : firestarter-1.0.3-6 which installs and works just fine.
For some reason my past config. was wiped, so be ware of it, in case you have a very customized IPTABLES.
Other than that is just fine.
Thank you to the maintainer/s for this fine work, it is much appreciated.
