DVD9 to DVD5

Hi,

I'm looking for a method to backup Video DVD from DVD-9 to DVD-5. I'm trying Winki the Ripper but it gives me some problems since streamdvd seems to be abandoned. Can you give me some suggestions? Even a guide would be geatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Re: DVD9 to DVD5

you could try these:

k9copy
dvd95

For DVD --> avi
handbrake (Console)
dvdrip (GUI to transcode)
acidrip (GUI to mencoder)

Re: DVD9 to DVD5

My preferred method is to use DVD Decrypter with wine to rip the DVD and then k9copy to re author + compress + burn. The reason I use DVD Decrypter is because once I had this disc that could not be ripped with any other free program.

Uhm... I thought about wine but then I would also use DVD Rebuilder with HC or CCE to recompress the DVD. I wanted to know if there were "native methods" under linux. I'm going to try with dvd9to5.

Take a look at xdvdshrink. It's available in AUR.

Re: DVD9 to DVD5

k9copy ftw - it's crashing on isos and dvd folders for me recently, though.
