Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a little help with an annoying issue that I'm having with the Pmanfm file manager (ver 0.3.2.2).
Basically, I'm getting a segmentation fault whilst browsing through files. It seems to be a random issue, not confined to any particular drive nor folder. I've tried watching the debug info after running the software from the terminal (debug seems to be on by default) and I see nothing unusual. The application merely crashes and 'Segmentation Fault' is printed to the terminal - but no detail about what caused the crash!
I must admit I do not recall this issue with earlier versions of Pcmanfm or it may have been that I just wasn't using it as much. However I have pretty much selected it as my default FM now (great proggy when its working) following some considerable time with Rox Filer. But these random crashes can be a real problem; sometimes occurring during a delete action of several folders etc -- it's very strange.
I was considering emailing the author of the software in the hope that he might know a way that I can collect more useful info about the crash but thought I'd ask here first to see if other users were encountering this instability or had found a solution.
I wonder if it could be a hal/dbus related problem. I don't pretend to understand what they do, but I have them enabled if thats useful to know?
Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated ...
Cheers

Hmmm....I am having this random 'Segmentation Fault' too!! ![]()
Its the only thing which makes me from chooisng pcmanfm over Thunar as my default file manager!
Maybe it could indeed be some sort of HAL and FAM clash problem?

It is recommended to use the bug report system: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=80 … unc=browse
A bug report system can help application developers track the status of bugs easily.
