nvidia 100.14.03 BETA!

Good evening archers,

I have built the newest nvidia 100.14.03 BETA driver. The -utils package, a module package for tpowa's 2.6.21-rc7-ARCH kernel and the PKGBUILDs are available here: http://www.archlinux.org/~thomas/nvidia/
If you want to use the driver with any other kernel, you'll have to replace the _kernver variable in the nvidia PKGBUILD and rebuild it.

Have fun testing.

Re: nvidia 100.14.03 BETA!

Thank you! I'll try these out tonight.
I just put together a desktop system with a Geforce 8600 GT and as I understand it these are the first linux drivers supporting the 8500/8600.

Re: nvidia 100.14.03 BETA!

Excellent job with the drivers. I rebuilt them for the 2.6.20-ARCH kernel with only one small problem! The md5sum failed for the NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.03-pkg0.run file. Note that this is the 64bit version.

After downloading the file a few times I just edited the PKGBUILDs and replaced the md5sum of 9b64aee889f7b8d415a607d8f6c3b3ec with f97a213153692fc31014397132df3f63 which is what I kept getting on my downloads of the file. Things seem to be working fine.

Thanks again for the packages!

Re: nvidia 100.14.03 BETA!

Is this a "bug fixes and support for new cards" update?  Or does it give me extra features to play with?

Nostalgia: I remember when I was using 1.0.4xxx......

I don't think it provides any new features. Just support for some new 8x00 cards.

Re: nvidia 100.14.03 BETA!

It also solves some bugs - nvidia usually doesn't give the full changelog. My laptop couldn't suspend  to ram (S3) with the 9xxx series drivers but it does with this beta flawlessly.
