Hi. I've found out this problem was mentioned a couple of times here but there is still no working advice to solve it
Arch 0.8, Icewm. I have installed the package with terminus font but it isn't available to select with xfontsel. But for example I can see and select this font in opera's select font dialog. I tryed to do:
ln -s /etc/fonts/conf.avail/70-yes-bitmaps.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d/70-bitmaps.conf
but it doesn't work neither.
What can I do to solve it?
Thnx

Is the fontpath set correctly in .xorg.conf?
Offline
My nvidia-xconfig generated the xorg.conf file absolutely without font paths. And most of fonts was visible with xfontsel.
After that I tryed to add a single line with path to directory where terminus font installed but X could not start after that.
Now a added ALL actual font paths to xorg.conf and X started and I even managed to see terminus in xfontsel. Thanks.
But question is still on - why I have to set font paths in xorg.conf while freetype2 SHOULD handle them all - and bitmap ones too!

I assume that's because freetype is a font engine and is loaded via xorg as a module. The Fontpath(s) set what fonts are available to xorg and therefore freetype.
