When will the next Arch ISO (based on 2.6.21) be released?
The kernel in the 0.8 ISO (2.6.20.4 IIRC) has a problem with the nForce chipset in my laptop, therefore I have to use the 0.7.2 ISO, which is pretty outdated. ![]()

Yes, but once you've installed the 7.2 CD you can ugrade (using pacman) to 8.0. So there's no need for a new ISO ![]()

I know, but I reinstall all the time, and since a native driver for my sucky Broadcom network card don't exist, I can't do an FTP install. And I have a really slow internet connection, so upgrading packages takes a while. ![]()

you could download the packages once..burn them to a CD, and then you can use the CD to install/upgrade the packages after you install 7.2
kinduv a work around, but it might tide you over until a new CD is released that works for you.

or just make a package for your kernel, or use the 0.8 iso with the old kernel

Sounds like the most sensible solution. So you just need both 7.2 and 8.0 CDs.

You coud always remaster the install cd with .21 if that one works for you (or an older kernel)
Take a look at the remaster and how to make your own live cd pages in the wiki.

If you don't mind using beyond kernel (at least for installation) you can always make yourself a (live) cd from which you can install using larch and archin http://four.fsphost.com/gradgrind/. That's how I did things before 0.8 since madwifi drivers weren't on the official cd.

we will make a new iso set when the 2.6.21 kernel hits current and all major issues are solved.
for now use the "0.8" iso and check how it is possible to use additional packages, where you can easily add the new testing kernel ![]()
