WMs, panel, mixers..

I have tried like 128 diffrent WM:s, 43 panels and 18 mixers. Only thing I really want is some nice looking WM, pager, clock and volume controller. KDE is the best WM I have used, but my computer is too old.. (P3-800, 512MB). Also, KMix is the best mixer, but I don't know how to use with other WMs/Panels. What I want is the "popup slider" that appears when I click the tray icon. It doesn't work even if I use Kicker with some other WM (OpenBox etc).

Gnome is quite good, but gnome-panel acts weird with other window managers.. Don't know why.. (Also, when I just upgraded my system, my mouse work's very badly in gnome).

XFCE4 is nice, but the xfce-mixer is just annoying, the slider is so small.

Then there's Ion3, Ratpoison, E17, Fluxbox, Openbox, Window Maker, FVWM, PekWM, WMii.. I have tried all of them, they're all nice, but not perfect.

I hate my life and I want to die. I try different shit like 100 times a day. Why can't it be like Windows.. nevermind.

I have used kmix with fluxbox in the past, I'm not sure but I think I just had "kmix" in my startup file.
And nothing is perfect, if you want a perfect system for you, you'll need to implement it yourself... And even then you'll notice how hard to code some things are.

Thank you.. I've used Fluxbox like 70% of the time, didn't remember that.. Guess I tried other WMs because I don't really like the panel.. Well, it's not bad..

OK, stupid me part 2.

Now I'm using gnome-panel with Openbox, and it seems to be working. Why? Because I edited my .xinitrc so it says just 'gnome-panel &' instead of old 'exec gnome-panel'. Amazing. Of course, I've used this like 5 minutes, but it's working and the mixer is good.
