Killing a bleeding edge operating system while updating it, is possible with Gentoo too. So I don't see there much difference. If you're using a mere WM it's even easier to maintain a stable system.

Umm, because he lists every single split package, when he could just have added the kdemod server and typed in pacman -Sy kdemod wink

...which is the recommended way to install it. Some people had problems when they did a fresh install with a selection of single packages. The "kdemod" group provides a tested and light default install without much hassle smile

i dont consider that a review in any way. not even a "review"
i dont now what is it with this site but none of the stuff i have read satisfied me in any way, arch or not related
