Bad scanner initialization during boot

I installed my Epson 2480 scanner using http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/USB_Scanner_Support and http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sca … _configure.

It used to work well until the last kernel (2.6.19) and udev upgrade. Since then, the scanner initialization during bootup time seems to be shortened and I get a I/O error on the device when trying to scan.

"scanimage -L" is ok and it is not a hardware breakdown because it keeps working under Ubuntu/Dapper.

Scanner works also under Arch Linux if I unplug and re-plug it after startup, but this is not satisfying solution for the long term.

I guess that there is something to change in the boot process in order to initialize the scanner earlier or later, but I don't know what, nor why  sad. If someone could give me a clue it would be nice !

Re: Bad scanner initialization during boot

It works again flawlessly since recent upgrades.
