Hi.
I didn't knew where to put this, so i write it here on the newbie section.
I installed Deskbar Applet (my fav Gnome app) and i have firefox (actually, swiftfox and firefox) and when i try to search on google with deskbar the google search didn't appear. So i guessed it was a permission problem because the place where the default google search is installed is:
/opt/mozilla/lib/firefox-2.0.0.3/searchplugins/
I'm not a big expert on this, but i went to my home folder, then to:
.mozilla/firefox/myprofile/searchplugins/
Inside that dir, you just need to do a symbolic link (as root, or like i have, with sudo):
sudo ln -s /opt/mozilla/lib/firefox-2.0.0.3/searchplugins/google.xml
There, you can now use google search with deskbar.
Ps: all the search plugins you add are installed on your .mozilla, only the default ones are on the firefox system folder.
Ps2: if there is any other way to do it, please tell me, but i guess this is the easiest way.
Ps3: sorry my bad english ...
