It runs fine until i try to play a song, and then it seg faults.  Is this related to gstreamer?

Re: Rhythmbox seg faults

yep, you have to configure gstreamer. I had the same problem.
Try running gst-register and gstreamer-properties

Re: Rhythmbox seg faults

wanted to try rhythmbox ... run gst-register and gstreamer-properties successfully, but somehow rhythmbox crashes:

(rhythmbox:3258): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: file gstcaps.c: line 1178 (gst_caps_str ucture_fixate_field_nearest_int): assertion `gst_structure_has_field (structure, field_name)' failed

(rhythmbox:3258): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: file gstcaps.c: line 1178 (gst_caps_str ucture_fixate_field_nearest_int): assertion `gst_structure_has_field (structure, field_name)' failed
rhythmbox: pcm_plug.c:882: snd_pcm_plug_hw_params: Assertion `err >= 0' failed.

(gnome_segv:3268): Gtk-WARNING **: Ignoring the separator setting
[damir@Asteraceae /]$

any ideas? (in gstreamer-properties, i choosen ALSA - it was OSS as default .. the only change i did)

Re: Rhythmbox seg faults

thanx ... with esd, it works fine

... but if i try to play a radio station (internet), it kills itself instead of streaming it:

[damir@Asteraceae /]$ rhythmbox
Killed
[damir@Asteraceae /]

is this normal behaviour?

Re: Rhythmbox seg faults

i'm running it out of fluxbox, not gnome - this can be it, because from gnome radio works mostly  (but not always)

thanx anyway ... i'm using amarok for radio, so it's not big trouble :-)

Re: Rhythmbox seg faults

I'm runing XFCE. But I use gnome-settings-manager, so maybe you could try running it in fluxbox

Re: Rhythmbox seg faults

Where can I find 'gstreamer-properties'?  Rhythmbox also crashes for me when I attempt to listen to radio feeds.

It's in /opt/gnome/libexec/

Re: Rhythmbox seg faults

sorry, it was not gnome-settings-manager, but gnome-settings-daemon. In fact xfce's is xfce-mcs-manager
