Patch supports locales, but it's need modified all originaly *.po files in

pacman/src/pacman/po/

Seeing as "scrolling up" is a bit hard - it will be in pacman at some point, but not right now.  We are reworking the way messaging works and also want to make sure the coloring doesn't interfere with gettext translations (currently, this patch invalidates all translations).

i think im a bit dense, is there something i can do so that pacman does not try to upgrade itself to the "regular" version every time i -Syu?

add pacman into IgnorePkg in pacman.conf

Is there any reason why pacman-colour isn't in the repos/aur/3rd-party-repo? I would much rather have it there than having to check the forums constantly.

Edit: PS. The conflicts and provides should be "pacman", not "pacman-rc"

why? How install pacman withou pacman? ha! if should be this package pacman-color (conflict pacman), you must unistall pacman first, and what now...

Yeah, sorry... I didn't think, just saw the pacman-rc and thought it should be pacman because pacman keeps wanting to upgrade itself, I only now realised that it's because the version is 3.0.4.color-1

hi, i just wanted to let you know that i ran into a problem when updating libarchive...well, it broke pacman. dont know if it was just me screwing up or a conflict with the package.

has anyone else run into this?

i had same problem,  I make symlink, and all is good

cd /usr/lib
sln libarchive.so.2 libarchive.so.1

Now you can redefine colors patch is  here.

How work it? If you like change any color, then edit file /etc/pacman.d/color.conf.

You can redefine colors by message type. For example, warning is by default yellow, uncomment line

warning = brown

now is warning grown, or any color from list in /etc/pacman.d/color.conf.

that is all, i thing this is final form of patch

One more little changes: you can define color theme in /etc/pacman.conf in section [option] for example

ColorConfig = /etc/pacman.d/themes/color.conf

in directory /etc/pacman.d/themes/ are some samples

edit: fix bug - bad padding - bug in function color_strlen()

it is all for longer time
