Re: should i come back to arch ;)

First, why don't you ask on debian forums if you should come back to debian?
Of course, almost everyone here will tell you to use arch, almost everyone there will tell you to use debian, and same for every other distrib/os smile
You could also use both, if you have several pc available (or dualboot on one, but well..). That way, you could see how both evolve, and by using both frequently, you should then be able to choose which one you prefer.
Personally, debian and arch are my 2 favorite distribs, and for different reasons.
If you are concerned about stability and smooth upgrades, then go for debian. Especially if you're also using some special softwares that are easier to install there.

I personally didn't try to install oracle on debian yet, but I tried on arch following this :
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=13778
It was the more painful install I ever did, and in the end, I couldn't get it to work, I had some obscure errors when trying to run it, and everything was so complicated.
Compare that to mysql and postgresql where both distribs can have nice packages ready, and can be installed and set up in no time.
But a manual compilation/install would probably go much smoother than oracle as well.
I *hate* oracle..
