Pacman and AUR

Good day.
Is Pacman planned to support AUR anywhere in the near future? Or are there plans for an official tool to handle the AUR in a similar way to Pacman?

Thanks.

Re: Pacman and AUR

There are no plans to integrate AUR functionality into pacman, or to create any official tool for AUR processing.

Re: Pacman and AUR

To explain that further: It just runs against official policy. yaourt already does that (if you want to use it), but it is not officialy accepted because it installs packages automagically from [unsupported]. By definiton, these are not safe. Which is not to say that yaourt isn't a great tool - it's just that it does some things some people don't like. Pacman-support for AUR somehow undermines what AUR was meant for.
