Boot system into selected OS using KDE and grub

Hi All,

I've just started using Arch after using openSuSE for a while and I must say that I am very impressed with its performance and stability!  I have found 2 things that I miss after using openSuSE's implementation of KDE:

1.  There is no searchbar in my K menu  &

I've not been able to find a patch/package that provides this function.  Is it available in the kdemod repo?

2.  When I pick an OS from my shutdown options to reboot into, grub ignores it and just shows the standard boot options

I've "borrowed" the /usr/sbin/grubonce script from my openSuSE install and when run from the commandline it works perfectly, I would really like for KDE to use the script.

I know they are not major things, but I after being used to using these features, it would be nice to get them back.  Any hints would be greatly appreciated smile

kdemod by default uses suse's kickoff (revised kmenu with searchbar and different structure), which you are probably looking for.

-edit-

Could you upload that /usr/sbin/grubonce somewhere? I want to have a look.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm looking for the standard K-menu but with a search option between 'Most Used Applications' and 'All Applications', if you type the name of a program then it highlights the path to it so you can find it more easily.

I tried the Kickoff menu but found it to be cumbersome to use and it never integrated well if you customize your desktop.

I've uploaded the script to:
