Just an opinion
To me linux is about webapps.
Once you have xorg up and opera (without cookies or popups or javascript) for surfing, and firefox for anything you have to log into, thats it.
Now you have to figure out how to develop webapps!
iceWM provides a small basic desktop with low bloat.
Gavin's quickguide shows how I got it up n running.
Other desktop stuff to me is fancy shmancy and useless.
just an opinion..

I haven't got one, I wouldn't know where to keep it. And I suppose some people have a great many. Or do you mean arses? (Sorry ... I don't want to start a transatlantic war!)
