pacman language pt_PT

Hello.
I don't use arch but I am feeling very sympathized with this distro.
I would love to translate pacman from pt_BR to pt_PT.

The question is: how? where to submit?

hmm

Thanks for all,
luminoso

Re: pacman language pt_PT

I'd first recommend joining the mailing list. Next, we have our GIT source code located at http://projects.archlinux.org/git/pacman.git if you wish to check it out; projects.archlinux.org also has a gitweb interface. In the checkout you will find a file named translation-help (or similar), that may be a helpful quick start although you may want to modify it and start with a copy of the pt_BR file instead of a blank file.

Re: pacman language pt_PT

I think it should be from en_US or whatever is in english since pt_BR has some terms we don't use it and translate to another context

Re: pacman language pt_PT

Actually, the translation files always include a first line (base-language en_US, text-to-be-translated), and a second line (target language, translated text). So you can always check back for the original, line by line - and it is indeed much more easier to use an existing version (and to change the specifics), rather than to build something from scratch. Moreover, it would ensure that uncontested lines in two versions of the same language are translated in a uniform way.
