Upgrade and sound gone.

Hello!

I tend to upgrade my Arch 1-2 times a week. 2 days ago i pacman -Syu normally and when I rebooted next time, I realized that sound was gone.
I can't get no sound out of Audacious, but playing mp3s through VLC works fine. Although there's no sound in videos when played with VLC. No sounds from Firefox either and when I play Action quake 2, sound works, but it comes 1sec late.

What can cause this and how do I fix it?

Just Kill esd, and if you're using Gnome then disable it in preferences.
