Following the recent pacman -Syu im having trouble logging into the likes of Gmail, ebay, and banking sites.
The login page loads, i fill in the details as normal, and then the page just sits there like the website has gone down.
the logins work from Konqeror, and Firefox on a Windows partition i have, but not from Firefox on any Arch PC's i upgraded last night.
Is anyone else having similar issues, or have a clue whats going on?
i noticed another post relating to a firefox patch but wasn't sure if its connected.
thanks

in about:config, do you guys have network.dns.disableIPv6 set to true or false?
You might try setting that to true, which disables ipv6 dns for firefox. I have found that speeds things up sometimes.

hi cactus, following your suggestion i just toggled network.dns.disableIPv6 to true and this solves the issue on this PC at least.
Will feedback on the other, but i cant see any reason for it not to be the same.
many thanks for the quick response, i simply wouldn't have got that without your help
cheers
Kern
Edit: me and my big mouth.
now wonder if its an intermittent problem as from the other Pc the IPv6 toggle doesnt solve the prob

Flipping network.dns.disableIPv6 worked for me too, thanks.

Mkay, I just did a system upgrade, and I too am having this problem, both on my workstation, and my laptop. Both of which use Arch.
It's not a problem with IPv6. I already had that disabled. It seems to be a problem with secure http sites. I can't get any to load with firefox now.
*edit*
After failing to load gmail, I just opened the google homepage. I am indeed logged in, but gmail refuses to load because it uses https.

looks like a problem with the firefox build..
