Size open-dialog GTK

I have installed archlinux on my new laptop at work. I set with .gtkrc-2.0 my GTK fontsize to "Sans 7", so the size of the letters are perfect for my screen/resolution.

However, the size of the open-dialog in for example leafpad or firefox is too small. I can see about 3 letters of the folder and filenames in the list on the right. If I resize (in fluxbox is that with alt+right-mouse-button) the open dialog, it doesn't save the size of it. The width of the coulumns "filename" and "last opened" are also not saved.

Does anybody knows how I can permanently resize those open-dialoges?

Sorry for the bad english.

Re: Size open-dialog GTK

I think this might be fixed in the next GTK+ version 2.10.8. (I say "think" because the changelog mentions that it's fixed, but the actually bug report still says unconfirmed with just a proposed patch?)

Re: Size open-dialog GTK

hello!

i want to refresh the discussion, because my gtk open dialogs are now very big! bigger then my screen. screen size 1280x800, dialog size 1174x1102!!! this is peeving me! every time i have to resize it! sad

is there any chance to set the size manually?

before this i had the same problem like above - small dialogs.

for now the problem can be solved. i downgraded to the gtk-package gtk2 2.10.12-1, with 2.10.12-2 i have big dialogs.

mfg iggy

sorry for my bad english smile

x2, it's the same here... there has to be a patch somewhere to get it right... =\

Re: Size open-dialog GTK

I recompiled the gtk2 and commented out the filechooser-sizing patch and all is well on my end.

I didn't make a patch .. All I dd was comment out the "gtk2-2.10.12-filechooser-sizing.patch" in the existing PKGBUILD and recompiled it. Nothing special at all.

I thought you deleted it from the gtk sources and I was like hmm, I'm not comfortable with gobject you know... Thanks anyway, I'm going to try that.
