Openoffice

I know this is not the best place to write about openoffice release but there is no other adeguate forum .

Basically I flagged out openoffice as outdated long time ago but no new release were made.
I know that there are just few diference from the RC to the official one.
Anyway 1.1.1 is the stable release and not 1.1.1a,  for sure there are think missing like the autopilot to install spellcheking dictionaries that make obsolete ooodi2 package, I think tis is already a realy good reason to make a new package.

Re: Openoffice

Or have a look at this thread
there is a PKGBUILD to install without compiling
that uses the normal binaries from openoffice
just modify it to your needs
it works great for me

Re: Openoffice

the arch policy is too build it from source wink

and the packages in incoming do not have PKGBUILD's
so i can't see if they are build from scratch

Re: Openoffice

Actually they do have PKGBUILDs included. Or at least they should. So you should also be able to download (unfortunatelly you will probably have to download the whole package) it and extract PKGBUILD then complile it yourself.

EDIT: Of course I didn't try it with open office so don't blame me if there is no PKGBUILD inside the oo package from incoming or if it won't compile properly roll
EDIT2: ...and as a package maintainer you probably know better then me

Re: Openoffice

Hi,

i wasn´t able to provide a fully working PKGBUILD because I wanted the english help content to be in the package.
It was built from the latetest OOO 1.1.1p stable sources.

If you want to compile it yourself you can use Sarah31´s PKGBUILD and change it to use the latest sources. This should work.
