Printer trouble - KDE 3.2.1-3

Hi all,

I've recently upgraded myworkstation at the office to Arch, and have installed the latest KDE, v. 3.2.1-3. Everything is up and running very nicely, except I''m having a problem setting up network printers.  When I go through the setup in the KDE Print Manager, all seems well till the very end some authorization dialog keeps popping up for printing system, trying either network or cups. Now I set up these printers, and there isn't any login needed, and it's not needed for any of the Windows or Red Hat systems on the network now when I set up and use the printers. Of course, cancelling the dialog cancels the printer creation.

Am I missing something here? Anyone have a tip? smile

KDE 3.2.1-3
hpijs 1.5-2
gimp-print 4.2.6-2
foomatic 2.0.3-2

Thanks

update kde to 3.2.2 or use the CUPS webinterface (open mozilla at address http://127.0.0.1:631 and login as root)

Re: Printer trouble - KDE 3.2.1-3

I finally completed the upgrades, and still no luck. When in the web interface, I can create the printer, but when I try a test page, I get a Forbidden page. If I try and print something, say this page, it just sits in the cups folder in /var/spool. When I select Configure Printer, a page with this shows up:
Error:
    server-error-internal-error

Any ideas?

Try installing ghostscript.
