Just installed Archlinux-2007.05-Duke-current.
After making xorg.conf went into X (windowmaker).
Installed KDE: pacman -S kde. great.......
Started KDE and find the menu practically empty.
Have to start Konqueror via Run command.
Starting kcontrol gives an empty tree (left side of window), so can't configure desktop.
Have installed all packages as suggested by pacman, except ktoys and kdeedu.

Problem solved
Deleted .kde and /var/tmp/kdecache-user/kysoca after googling for X-KDE-BaseGroup=settings.
Subsequent restart of X gave me the normal KDE desktop.
I used Windowmaker the 1st time I started X.
Some interference??
thx
