Upgrading filesystem errors

I have been following recent threads where others have had a few problems with upgrading. I have therefore taken the approach of upgrading packages that might cause a problem individually before entering into a full -Syu. I have successfully upgraded Pacman and the current kernel. In trying to upgrade the filesystem package I get the following errors:

error: could not prepare transaction
error: failed to commit to transaction (conflicting files)
filesystem: /etc/protocols exists in filesystem
filesystem: /etc/services exists in filesystem
errors occurred, no packages were upgraded

What should I do to upgrade the filesystem?

Thanks

Re: Upgrading filesystem errors

What package claims those two files currently? (pacman -Qo /etc/services) You probably should upgrade that one first instead.

Re: Upgrading filesystem errors

Many thanks ataraxia, that did the job. It was the iputils package that needed updating first.
