What's with the empty file

Just finished cleaning out /etc of all the saved and obsolete files. What's with the empty file. arch-release. Does this serve a purpose or do send it to where the sun don't shine.

Re: What's with the empty file

it's empty because arch is not based on releases .. basically, it has no version ... this point has been rectified some time ago .. i don't know why the -release file is there, but it serves no purpose as far as i can tell

Re: What's with the empty file

Since this file was blanked, Gajim now reports my Operating System as 'Unknown', which is slightly annoying.  But no big problem.
