Wine title bars hazy/grayed and working directory error

When any app is started with wine, the title bar is grayed or hazy. After searching web, i found that it has something to do with allowing wine to manage the window or allowing X to do the same. Also found that the solution was to change the entry "managed=N" to "managed=Y" in config file (at one place it was mentioned to change it in regedit), but I could not find any config file in wine directory nor any "managed" entry in reg file. Also, nothing was found in winecfg.

Also whenever I start an app in console using wine, it gives me the following error:

Warning: could not find DOS drive for current working directory '/home/shantanu', starting in the Windows directory.

And all the data being created by the apps are stored in ~/.wine/drive_c/windows which is getting cluttered with files.

Does anyone has any idea about these issues.

Re: Wine title bars hazy/grayed and working directory error

run winecfg and add the applicatino in application tab. then select the app in app tab and go to graphics tab and uncheck "allow the window manager to control the window." This will make the display perfect but then wine acts as virtual desktop and does not allow to switch to other apps with alt+tab. any solution to that.
