anybody tried compiling glibc with -fomit-frame-pointer, I think gentoo strips that flag for some reason.
Maybe I'll go for it and see what happens ...

my understaing is that it does nothing and could create instabilities in some instances. that being said my crux is compiled that way and i have no issues.
i have even been told that it is best to excult all but processor flags when compiling glibc.
