Do you mean KDE icon themes can be used under gnome, I have tried but no luck, could you tell how to do with it? I am under gnome2.6, and untar the KDE icons under my .icons of home folder, thank you.

Ok. you can do it ......
right here we go
right click Old icon on Gnome desktop Select Custon Icon..... Browse (button at top) till you find the icon you want (KDE)
Drag this file over Old icon on Properties box & there you go ....
Give it go ...you might find a quicker way but I hope this helps

As far as I remember there was a python script named misgnomer in the forums at linuxcult that changed the names of KDE icons to those who fit Gnome.
