Hi all, i want to upgrade my system but pacman wants me to upgrade glibc and gcc, and of course i don't want it to do it.
I want to upgrade to gnome 2.6.1 without trouble, how can i do that?
Thanks.

chances are that GNOME 2.6.1 will work perfectly. so do:
pacman -Sy gnome gnome-extra
ps.
gcc 3.4 is fine

I still can't see the need of gnome and gnome-extra group. If you install gnome only, your gnome will be allmost unusable. So, usually all gnome friends install both groups.

pacman messed up some pac's database files, and he thought that glibc and gcc weren't installed. Thanks to all
