xorg-server-1.3.0.0 and kuickshow (from kdegraphics-3.5.7)

Hi, have anyone tried kuickshow (from kdegraphics-3.5.7) with the new xorg-server in testing?

When I click on an image-icon, kuickshow will show a small preview of the image and it will open a window with the image in fullscreen. With the previous version of xorg-server this worked well, but with the new xorg-server version in testing only the small preview version is shown, the fullscreen version of the image will not be show.

I use kuickshow and xorg-server from testing, but didn't notice any change in behaviour. I'm not sure exactly what's the problem. What happens exactly when you *click* on an image? Doesn't kuickshow open it? The fact that it opens it in full screen mode or not depends on your configuration (kuickshow>settings>Configure kuickshow> fullscreen mode).

When I click on an image kuickshow normally opens the image twice: a small preview on the same window and a new window with a scaled up/down image to fit the screensize. I know some behavior of kuickshow depends on the configuration, but I've not changed the configuration. When I upgrade to xorg-server-1.3.0.0 kuickshow will only show the small preview, it will open a new window with the right size, but it will not show the image in this new window (the content of this window stays black or is garbled). After downgrading back to the current xorg-server kuickshow behaves normal again.

It is possible that you don't have this problem. The problem may be on my system only because I've compiled a lot of often-used applications and libraries myself (with changes to *FLAGS and ./configure settings)... maybe some of the dependencies of kuickshow and/or xorg-server is causing this problem for me... I just don't know which

It's a strange problem, I don't experience it myself. I could guess it's an xorg configuration problem, but if it just happens with kuickshow it might not be the case.

If you open kuickshow from a terminal (typing kuickshow) and then from within kuickshow try to open a picture, does the terminal show any error message?

I've found the cause. It's not one of the apps or libs that I've compiled myself with my own *FLAGS and ./configure settings, but it's because I use EXA instead of XAA as AccelMethod in xorg.conf.

Maybe EXA is still experimental, but It's faster on my computer (noticable when composite is turned on). I'll have to find an other imagebrowser though...

As far as I know, it only happens with kuickshow. All the other apps that use images (kview, konqueror, gimp and probably a few others) don't have this problem.
Starting kuickshow from shell does not show any differences between the 2 xorg-server versions.

Now I've found a fix: recompile kdegraphics after some changes in kuickshow.cpp.
