problems with VLC [SOLVED]

VLC 0.8.6b gives me serious problems

When I try to watch some videos (the type is casual, some xvid work well, but others of them not, for example), they are displayed in a very strange manner, as if little parts of the video are repeated quickly.

If I use Mplayer there aren't problems at all.

Can someone explain the mistery?

Try using a different video output. If you're using Xv switch to x11.
